Our Purpose

The internet marketing industry has evolved rapidly over the past two decades. Search engines, social platforms, and now AI-driven discovery have transformed how Canadian businesses connect with their customers. CIMA exists to support the professionals working in this space — through industry education, ethical standards, and a directory of accountable practitioners that the public can trust.

Who We Serve

CIMA's membership includes digital marketing agencies, independent consultants, in-house marketing teams, and emerging professionals across the full range of internet marketing disciplines: search engine optimization, paid media, content strategy, analytics, conversion optimization, email marketing, and the rapidly emerging field of generative engine optimization.

Geographic Reach

While CIMA's roots are in British Columbia, our membership and resources serve practitioners across all Canadian provinces and territories. Local chapters operate independently and adhere to the broader association's purposes of education, networking, and professional integrity.

How We Operate

CIMA is membership-supported and run by a volunteer board drawn from our member agencies. Core membership is open to any Canadian internet marketing professional or organization that agrees to our code of conduct. We do not charge for core membership; the association is sustained through optional sponsorship from members and affiliated organizations.
